Meet Morgan Rolighed:
Where Modern Sophistication Meets Thoughtful Design
Morgan Rolighed, Furniture Stylist & Design Associate
At Carbon 6 Interiors, our team's diverse talents and unique perspectives help bring exceptional spaces to life. Today, we're excited to introduce you to Morgan Rolighed, our Furniture Stylist and Design Associate, whose keen eye for modern sophistication and attention to detail helps transform houses into homes. Through this fun Q&A, we'll explore Morgan's design philosophy, daily inspirations, and the creative journey that led her to our team.
Q: What's your role, and how would you describe it to us?
M: I am the Furniture Stylist and Design Associate, where I focus on helping clients create their dream spaces through carefully selected furniture, artwork, and accessories. Additionally, I manage the staging for our model projects, ensuring each design highlights the unique features of the property.
Q: Knowing every day is likely different, can you walk me through what a typical day looks like for you?
M: My day-to-day varies depending on the projects we're working on and their stage of completion. Some days are spent meeting with clients, while others are dedicated to drawing furniture plans and creating presentations. On move-in days, I’m at the warehouse overseeing deliveries and helping place items in homes. We also have days where we’re out sourcing last-minute pieces to ensure our homes are 100% ready.
Q: If your design style was a cocktail, what would it be called and what's in it?
M: An Espresso Martini, characterized by sleek modern lines and rich, moody hues, beautifully accented with gold for a touch of glamour. Blending sophistication and comfort, fostering an intimate atmosphere ideal for social gatherings.
Q: What's the most memorable client request you've ever received?
M: We recently worked with a client constructing a cabin in Indiana. Inspired by an old school mascot, they wanted to incorporate zebras into their cabin design. To achieve this, we used a stunning photograph of a zebra in their wet bar and added a zebra hide rug in the hearth and pub area.
Q: What's the last thing that made you laugh out loud at work?
M: One of my favorite recent experiences was when Lindsey and I decided to go off-roading in her car on our way back to the office. She shared that she had always wanted to take this route but had been too apprehensive to do so. To my surprise, the road turned out to be an unpaved path through a field marked by tire tracks bouncing us around the whole way. We laughed so hard that my face hurt!
Q: If you were a piece of furniture, what would you be and in which room would you placed?
M: I would choose to be a dining room table positioned at the heart of the home. It allows you to be surrounded by all the happenings, and you get to listen to the wonderful stories shared during gatherings and spend quality time with family.

Q: If you could banish one color from existence, which one would it be and why?
M: Humorous Green. It can clash with many other colors, limiting its versatility in design and making it challenging to incorporate into a harmonious palette.
Q: What's your go-to "brain food" when tackling a challenging project? Or just your favorite snack in general?
M: I always enjoy snacking on granola while at work. Heavenly Hunks are another favorite of mine; they provide a satisfying boost that helps me concentrate. Alternatively, a delicious chocolate chip cookie from Fox and Pantry* is also a great option!
*Our team loves Fox & Pantry in Plymouth, shout out to keeping us caffinated & their amazing baked goods!
Q: What's your guilty pleasure when it comes to home decor items?
M: My guilty pleasure is throw blankets and pillows. I can never have enough of them and find myself continually buying more, even though we already have far more than we need!

Q: What's the strangest place you've ever found design inspiration?
M: Public restrooms might seem like an unusual source of inspiration, but every now and then, you walk into one and find yourself pleasantly surprised. Designers often unleash their creativity in these spaces, experimenting with bold wallpapers, vibrant colors, and unique combinations of stone and tile. The result is a playful and inviting atmosphere that makes the experience enjoyable.
Q: Describe your ideal project to work on
M: I find each project to be a new and exciting opportunity. Following our 2024 Summer Artisan Home, I am eager to see what’s next for Carbon 6! I anticipate some fun and innovative projects in the near future. The most rewarding experiences come from working with clients who are not only passionate about their project but also have a clear vision and a desire to collaborate throughout the process.
